Ingredients
1 cup pureed apple
1/3 cup cocoa powder, sifted
3/4 cup self raising flour, sifted
1/2 tsp bicarb soda, sifted
1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup castor sugar
250g light cream cheese
1 egg yolk
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius. Lightly spray a 20cm sqaure cake tin with oil and line with baking paper.
- Place puree, cocoa, flour, bicarb soda, chocolate, salt and 1/2 cup of the sugar in a large bowl and stir to combine. Pour mixture into prepared tin.
- Using electric beaters, beat cream cheese, egg and remaining sugar in a medium bowl. Pour cream cheese mix over chocolate mix.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until cooked. Cool in tin, cut into 12 pieces.

A quick question - is the pureed apple the same as unsweetened apple sauce?

Yes, it is from weight watchers australia. I am sure that you can use apple sauce (I think it is pretty much the same thing)
