A Library Room

As a young Girl I dream't of having a house with my own library.  The room above would certainly be to my liking.  I love the bult in bookshelves with the cosy couch not to far away, perfect for curling up with my favourite book.

This room also looks perfect for a spot of reading.

Local Artist - Joanna Darby

I adore artwork and would eventually love to fill my walls with original pieces, but until then I admire from afar.

This little collection featuring birds, bunnies and homes by Joanna Darby, a local Newcastle artist, is my current favourite.

She is currently preparing for another exhibition and I am looking forward to seeing her new work.  Joanna also writes a fabulous blog which gives insight into her day to day life as a mum and artist, it is also incredibly inspirational and challenging on many levels.   Joanna is one gifted lady!

Childrens Spaces

My eldest son has always loved globes and world maps, so when I saw this piece by designer and artist Jen Talbot for a boys airplane themed room I fell in love.  What a cool idea have a globe with movable felt pieces.

I also love the little girls nursery below.  My favourite piece in the room is the bird artwork, which when you look closer is made up of many cutouts of birds with layers of colour and texture.  Love.
